Eurofab food

Spent much of last weekend shooting at Eurofair with the Kent Food & Drink Festival in Canterbury.

Friday was opening day. Crowds were a little thin (as you’d expect on a working day) and the weather a little unpredictable (quite nippy!).

But it gave me a good opportunity to shoot the producers and their products in a less frenetic environment.

Many were still setting up when we arrived so I was able to capture the “full picture” and get to chat with them before the event really got going.

They were, without exception, very accommodating and provided me with samples of their goodies to shoot in the best (natural) light.

By Saturday lunchtime the place was thronged (and the sun was out) so opportunities for shooting food were limited but there were plenty of smiling (and eating) faces to capture.

There were some really great people showing off some really fabulous food, much of it unique to Kent.

The beer and cider stands were especially well attended (shame I was working!) whilst Kentish cobnuts, locally reared game and super fresh vegetables took centre stage.

And away from the food and drink there were plenty of equally colourful and enjoyable things to shoot.

Overall, a great event for the family and a photographer’s delight. Hope I’m invited back next year.
