Just as the asparagus season has come to an end, we’ve taken delivery of our first crop of garden peas.
There really is nothing to compare with their fresh-out-of-the-pod taste. Capturing their colour and freshness is a bit of a challenge – frozen peas have a much darker hue so I was concerned that I’d got the exposure wrong. So I greedily snapped open a few more pods to confirm I’d got the colour match correct.
Right now I can’t think of a better food experience than munching on these peas, fresh from the garden under a cloudless blue sky in the Garden of England (with a cool libation on the side of course…).
